Handel at Court (2012)

24–25 November 2012

The Foundling Museum, London

The idea for this, the ninth Handel Institute conference, was prompted by the forthcoming Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, but the theme was intended to embrace every aspect of Handel’s relations with all his patrons, not only royalty, and also with his colleagues and audiences. It was also anticipated that the conference would consider his activities as a performer and composer in the places where he worked or visited, including Halle, Hamburg, Florence, Rome, Venice, Hanover, Düsseldorf, London, Dublin and elsewhere.
